Caroline Calloway Juliet BB
Caroline Calloway Juliet BB

Ink, graphite, acrylic and pastel on wood panel. 24˝x24˝

If you know Caroline, you might recognize the figure in this piece. CC is an Instagram influencer who has recently launched an OnlyFans where she does softcore porn dressed as figures from literature. Here, I've made a painting in reaction to CC's selfie in full Claire Danes be-winged Juliet mode. This painting explores my fascination with CC's lack of shame around her body; my own desire for her and the ways she uses viewers' desires to build her base and her career; my feelings around internet nudity and the history of the painter's gaze on a woman's body.
